Be In Peace But Not Into Pieces
That night was quite difficult for Leena as her beloved mother was about to die. Last 10-12 days everybody in the family was worried. Her mother was suffering from Cancer which was detected at the last stage. Doctor had given answer that anything can happen any time. It was quite difficult time for both Leena and her father. Last 12 days, many visited their house to see her mother who was in coma. Most of them had come first time to see her mother when they came to know about her Cancer. And yes, those days were last days of her mother. Leena was under a shock since the cancer was detected but she had to hide the pain through which her heart was passing. She used to keep her face either expressionless when anybody ask her about her mother's health as she did not want anybody should pity her.
Now the night had come. They thought that since her breathing has stopped means she passed away. But doctor said that it cann't be confirmed until a vain in the brain stop vibrating completely. She had seen the reality of our life that how a human body decay slowly. Doctors are used to such deaths but when it comes to death of our beloved person it is heart breaking. That night Leena, her father and two more relatives were waiting..........it was so painful..........but there was no alternative. After every 10 mins they had to check the nerve in the brain by touching it. At last around 3.00 a.m. in the morning it stopped. Everybody confirmed calmly. They decided not to give trouble to doctor in such an early morning. They waited till 5.30 a.m. Leena called the doctor and informed him that "She is dead".
When her mothers deadbody was carried from her home she couldn't cry. She was just looking at her mothers deadbody with cold eyes. It was actually a shock for her which she thought she had controlled. After a year, when she was abroad for her studies, she realised that though she was looking outwordly in peace but inside she was really in pieces.
The Universal Truth

The Universal Truth
Jenefer was walking silently on the grass of her house yard and merged in thoughts deeply. She couldn't forget the day when her friend Robert gave her a shock and continued. She easily went back to her past when she met him first time.......how they became friends......how they used to help eachother. Robert was working in a bakery but used to earn sufficient for himself. He was having a pleasing personality with a fresh smile. No wonder he was surrounded by many girls in the parties and many were waiting to have a friendship with him. He was having many girl friends. Jenefer was different. So Robert was having her as one of his friend. She was thinking Robert as a gental man. Sometimes she used to felt something strange in his natorious eyes but she tended to ignore it. She was having a great faith in him. She never thought him as a boy friend. She used to admire him for his grace and cheerfulness but just as a friend. She was not knowing what is kept in her dish in future.
For summer vecation she went to her aunt's place in other village. There she met John and fail in love with him and within a short duration they became so close that they decided to marry. Jenefer returned with a very happy face. She wanted to share this happy news with her best friend Robert. As soon as she met him, she couldn't wait and told him desparately about John. Robert's face was changed suddenly into an angry one. Jenefer was not expecting such kind of reaction from him. He immediately holded her arms and shouted at her, that she has fooled him and just taking advantage of him. Jenefer couldn't understand what was happening. She told him that she never thought about him as a boy friend but he was not ready to listen. That day he left her like that.
Jenefer was shocked and thought that he might understand after some days. One fine sunday morning when Jenefer was going to the chruch, Robert stopped her on the way. He was looking different and Jenefer couldn't recognize him. He asked her in the same angry mood that whether she is ready to marry him or not. Jenefer replied negatively and continued walking. Suddenly she felt that something had fallen on her shoulder and then she fail down. When she opened her eyes she was laying on a bed in the hospital. She tried to get up but couldn't as she felt some strange lightness in her arm. Jenefer noticed that she had lost her one arm. Her parents told her, that how she was found and brought in the hospital.
Tears were rolling down her cheeks. She realised what would have happened. After some days when she was discharged John came to see her. He gave her a news that he is marrying Mery the coming Sunday. After John left, Jenefer came out in the yard. She lost her faith in men and now she always asks why she had put faith in Robert and John? No wonder all the mistakes are realised after certain time. This is the universal truth.
Quote - 3
When friendship disappears then there is a space left open to that awful loneliness of the outside world which is like the cold space between the planets. It is an air in which men perish utterly.
Birth Day
Birth DayMrinal, a 10 years aged boy,was very intelligent. Some of his bad habits like unhelping nature, never do any work told by anybody, skeeping homework, quarreling with most of the students and telling lies were dominating over his intelligence and other qualities. Hence, everybody in the school and friends with whom he used to play, used to complain about him. Day by day Mrinal was becoming more and more roud which was noticed by his parents. They tried to talk with him separately and together regarding the matter but Mrinal was ignoring everybody. His father tried to punish him still it did not work. His parents were in great worry about Mrinal's behaviour and used to feel embarrased if somebody talks about him.
One fine day his father called Mrinal and talked with him regarding the matter but in different manner. He said, "look Mrinal, if I heard any complaint about you from anybody, I am going to put a nail on the door of our living room. Now it is up to you, how you behave." Mrinal did not find anything wrong in it so agreed to what his father told. Mrinal thought that, how father can put nails on the new door of newly decorated living room? So as usual he ignored and continued his behaviour. One week over and he realised that there were many nails appeared on the door and he was surprised but still ignored. Now, by the end of two weeks most of the place on the door was filled with nails. It was devaluing the beauty of the newly decorated living room.
After a week, there was Mrinal's sister's birth day and his parents arranged a party. Many guests and family friends of their family joined the party. That day also Mrinal did not help anybody for te preparation. But nobody said anything. His father was actually keenly observing Mrinal's behaviour since he told Mrinal about putting nails on the door. Everybody admired their living room's lavishness but some of them did ask about the ugly looking door. His father purposefully told everybody the reason behind that ugly door without any hesitation. Mrinal was also listening to this. He felt ashamed of himself and ran in the bedroom. He was crying but nobody tried to cosol him.
The next day morning Mrinal came to his father and asked to take out all the nails from the door. Father asked him the reason and he told that he has realised his mistake and he will behave better from today. Mrinal was changed, his father removed all the nails from the door. The door with holes was looking more ugly. After a week, Mrinal again came to his father and asked to replace the door with wholes by a new one. He told his father that the door with removed nails recalling his bad memories. Father assured to replace the door but told very important thing to him.
Father said, "Bad habits are just like nails and our 'self' or soul or mind is just like the door. Once we get the bad habits, those leave great impressions on our 'self' or mind or soul just like the holes left on the door. In the case of door we can replace it but what about our 'self' or soul or mind? We cann't replace it." Tears rolled down the eyes of Mrinal. Father also convinced that Mrinal has realised and improving day by day. He replaced the door by a new one. Mrinal's father was more happy because though it was difficult to change Mrinal, he succeeded in that.
The Best Teacher (1)
The Best Teacher (1)
As she stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of the school, like most of the teachers she looked at her students and said she loved them all the same. However that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in thereat was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.
Mrs. Thompson (Teacher) had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he did not study well like other children, that his clothes were messy, and that he constantly needed a bath. In addition, Teddy could be unpleasant.
It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson (Teacher) would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then putting a big "Fail" at the top of his papers. At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each student's past records and she put Teddy's off until the last. However when she reviewed Teddy's file, she was in for a surprise.
Teddy's first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners. He is a joy to be around."
His second grade teacher wrote, " Teddy is an excellentstudent, well liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."
His third grade teacher wrote, "Teddy's mother's death has been hardon him. He tries to do his best, but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps are not taken."
His fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and hesometimes sleeps in the class."
By now Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped beautifully in bright ribbons and paper, except for Teddy's, whose present was clumsy and wrapped in heavy brownpaper, the one he would have got from a grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents.
Some of the children started to laugh when she found the rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing and a bottle of perfume that was only one quarter full. But she stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed on after school that day just long to say, " Mrs.Thompson, today you smelled just like my mom used to." After the children left, she cried for at long time.
On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic. Instead she began to teach children. Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest children in class. And, despite her lie that she loved all the children the same, Teddy became one of her "pets".
A year later, she found a note under her door, fromTeddy, telling her that she was still the best teacher he had ever had in his life. Six years went by before she got another letter from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in is whole life.
Four years after that she received another note saying that while things had been tough at times, he still stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate with the highest honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and mostfavorite teacher he ever had in his whole life.
Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and most favourite teacher he ever had in his whole life. But now the name was little longer ... the letter was signed, Theodore F.Stoddard, MD.
The story does not end here. There was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said the he met this girl who was going to marry. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson would agree to sit atthe wedding inthe place that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom.
Of course, Mrs. Thompson did. And guess what, she wore that bracelet- the one with several rhinestones missing. Moreover, she also remembered to wear the perfume that Teddy's mother wore on the last Christmas they spent together.
They hugged each other, and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs. Thompson's ear, "Thank you Mrs. Thompson for believing in me. Thank you so much for making me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."
Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back,"Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn't know how to teach till I met you."
We could have a Teddy standing in front of us and yet not realized it . . .
We can just try to make a difference in someone's life today, tomorrow..
A Story of Love to Motherland and a Man (Part-2)

Chitralekha-2
When the sculpture maker comes to know that to whom he was knowing as Chitralekha's servant is herself Chitralekha, he tells her the reality about himself that he is the King Vikramaditya and wanted her help to leak the secrets of the King Vishnubhava's army to conquer Avantikapur. Chitralekha is shocked. He promise her to marry with her after winning Avantikapur and assures her that she will be the queen of Ujjain. Chitralekha is caught in dilema at one end her love for motherland and at other end a man whom she loved a lot and an opportunity to become a queen. Here comes the climax,
There are two possible ends of the story..........
1) Chitralekha helps Vikramaditya to conquer Avantikapur and becomes queen of Ujjain.
2) Chitralekha refuses to help Vikramaditya and his love and remain loyal to the King Vishnubhava. Vikramaditya has to leave Avantikapur without conquring it.
No! but there is third end...............Can you guess??
What will happen to Chitralekha's love for motherland? How she will deal with her deep love for Vikramaditya? Though she refuse to help Vikramaditya, will he respect her love for both, him and motherland?? What do you think?
The Kiss
The Kiss
by Rabindranath Tagore
Lips' language to lips' ears.
Two drinking each other's heart, it seems.
Two roving loves who have left home,
pilgrims to the confluence of lips.
Two waves rise by the law of love
to break and die on two sets of lips.
Two wild desires craving each other
meet at last at the body's limits.
Love's writing a song in dainty letters,
layers of kiss-calligraphy on lips.
Plucking flowers from two sets of lips
perhaps to thread them into a chain later.
This sweet union of lips
is the red marriage-bed of a pair of smiles.
Dependence to Independence to Freedom
Many a times I wonder though these words dependence, independence and freedom differ from each other these are quite interlinked. Like since you are dependent you might get independence. If you are not dependent then how you will get independence? I mean if you have something then you can get rid of that thing. But if you don't have someting then how you will loose it? So for getting independence you must be dependent. Since getting independence depends on dependence hence it is not free. Hence you might get freedom from independence because it is not free from dependence. Hence freedom depends on dependence.
Oh No How complicated it is!!
Possessiveness and Attachment
Possessiveness and Attachment
When I moved to my new room, I came to know that before me one person was staying in that room who has become my friend afterwards. When I realised this, i told him emmediately that as a coincidence I have moved to the room where he was staying before. Immediately I got his reply that he never liked Cambrige and especially that room as outside that room he used to smell like a dustbin. Fortunately, when I moved to that room it was not so. I wrote him back that it is good that he doesn't have any attachment to the place where he stayed almost one year. Though he complained about the room, from his later replies I understood that he is having some attachment to that room. Suddenly, some days before, he started mentioning my current room as his room and the sense was quite possessive. I am still wondering whether attachment is good or possessiveness is bad. Sometimes I feel that unless somekind of attachment is there one cann't do anything. When attachment turns into possessiveness it becomes bad. Very thin line is there in between these two. I think that thin line is nothing but space........
A Story of Love to Motherland and a Man (Part-1)

Chitralekha-1
Chitralekha was a beautiful royal dancer in the court of the king Vishnubhava, the king of Avantikapur . She was the center of attraction of all the courtiers. King Vishnubhava was also proud of her as she was intelligent and equally patriotic. Though she was aware of her beauty and fame she was quite down to earth and used to pay attention to her admirers calmly. She never entertained anybody for any misbehaviour. She was having a great respect for her position as a royal dancer.
King Vikramaditya, the king of Ujjaini wanted to conquer the kingdom of Avantikapur. He tried to attack on it several times but he was unsuccessful due to great will-power and patriotism in the army of Vishnubhava. So finally he decided to play another trick to conquer Avantikapur. King Vishnubhava was knowing that though Vikramaditya couldn't succeed to win, he will never give up the desire to conquer Avantikapur. So he trained most of his citizens to fight in the war including ladies. Also he tried to cultivate the feeling of patriotism in his citizens. All his courtiers had taken the owth of being loyal to Avantikapur.
One fine day Chitralekha was roaming in the garden of Avantikapur with her friends. Suddenly they come across a young, handsome man who wanted some help to get into the palace to meet the royal dancer Chitralekha. He had heard about her beauty and wanted to make a sculpture of her. He was not knowing that he was asking to Chitralekha and her friends. Just to check for his intentions Chitralekha tells him that she is her servant and if he follows her she can take him to Chitralekha. After taking him to her palace Chitralekha asks him to wait and goes inside and sends one of her beautiful servants as Chitralekha to meet him. He asks her permission to make her sculpture and decide some time.
Meanwhile he asks original Chitralekha to whom he was thinking as her servant to give him company as he was new to the place. He tells her that though he heard about Chitralekha's beauty but her servant is more beautiful. So he shows his desire to make a sculpture of her. Days passed..........and he made a sculpture of both Chitralekha and her servant. Meanwhile king Vishnubhava comes to know that a person is making a sculpture of Chitralekha and wants to see his creation. He was believeing that nobody else than God can creat a beauty as Chitralekha. So Vishnubhava announces that if the sculpture of Chitralekha will be equal or more beautiful than herself then he will give awatd to the person.
This young sculpture maker and original Chitralekha realises that they have fallen in love but he refuses her because he wanted to go back to his country after receiving the award. So he tells her that he has decided never to marry any lady. She tries to convince him but invain. Chitralekha's heart breaks as she was in deep love with him. The day rises when the king Vishnubhava comes to see his creation. He asks the king to recognize the sculpture of Chitralekha whose face was covered. He purposefully keeps both the sculptures (Chitralekha's and her servant's) there to make the king aware of his art. King Vishnubhava recognizes and points out towards the sculpture of original Chitralekha. The sculpture maker tells the king that he has misunderstood as it is the sculpture of Chitralekha's servant. King laughs at him and says, "you don't know, she is Chitralekha, a great royal dancer of my court."

Oh Mind!!
Another Beautiful and Melodious Song
Man Re Tu Kahe Na Dhir Dhare
Woh Nirmohi Moha Na Jane
Jinaka Moha Kare
Oh Mind! why you are becoming impatient,
Why you have desire of somebody
Who does not know what desires are?
Es Jeevan Ki Chadhati Dhalati
Dhoop Ko Kisane Bandha
Sang Pe Kisane Pahare Dale
Roop Ko Kisane Bandha
Kahe Ye Jatan Kare
Who has bound (restricted) to the ongoing life
Who has put restrictions on company and
Who has bound the beauty?
Why to preserve all these?
Utana Hee Upakar Samazh Koi
Jitana Saath Nibhaa De
Janam Maran Ka Mel Hai Sapana
Ye Sapana Bikhara De
Koi Na Sanga Maren
You must feel obliged to have a company
up to which you can get it.
Nobody has assured the lifetime company
Lifetime company is just like a dream
Let that dream be broken
Nobody dies together

A Beautiful Song
A Beautiful Song
Sansar Se Bhage Phirate Ho
Bhagavan ko tum kya paaoge
Es lok ko bhi aapana na sake
Us lok main bhi pachataaoge
You are running away from the world, How you will attain God?
You didn't accept this world, you will regret in that world
Ye Papa Hai Kya Ye Punya hai kya
Reeton par dharma ki moharen hai
Har Yug main badalate dharmon ko
Kaise aadarsh banaoge
What are these concepts of sin and virtue, which are stamps of religion on traditions
How you can accept the religion which changes in different ages as an ideal
Ye Bhog bhi ek tapasya hai
Tum tyag ke mare kya jaano
Aapana ye racheta kya hoga
Rachana ko Aagar Thukaraoge
These pleasures are a kind of Tapasa, but those like you who renounced the world,
will not understand this
If you reject the creation then how God will be our creator?
Hum Kahate hai ye jag aapana hai
Tum kahate ho zhoota sapana hai
Hum janam bita kar jayenge
Tum Janam gavan kar jaoge
We say that this world is ours, and you reject this by saying it as illusion
We will live our life in this world and go, but you will be going by loosing it.
Bhagavan ko tum kya paaoge
Sansar Se Bhage phirate ho
You are running away from the world, How you will attain God?
The Best Teacher
In the first autograph book there was one question:
Who is your best teacher? Humm.....I was thinking, quite tricky question. As I crossed higher and higher education in my mind it was confirmed that I never got a best teacher......at any stage. (It is my opinion about my teachers at all stages not only school level, but it includes college and university level)
I found three options for that answer. The first one was
Mother as whatever basic things taught by her I never forgot.
The second one was
nature.
Nature teach us a lot, if we are ready to learn. My observation is that most of the humanbeings are proudy and always go against
nature.....they try to challenge it. Through
natural calamities also
nature tries to teach but if we are ready to take.
The third one was
experience.
Experience enrich us day by day. It teaches us till the end of the journey of our life.
Hence I came upto the conclusion that
experience is the best teacher for me. I found that whatever I have learnt through
experiences I have never forgotten. Whatever things about life, whatever small amount of wisdom I got, was only due to different
experiences in my life. I have not got many things from my formal education (writing exams etc) except subject knowledge and degrees.
Experiences can be of different types. You might get it by observation, reading books, doing some practical or just wandering, talking to people etc. Listening others
experiences also teach us a lot.
I know this teacher is not going to leave me alone up to the end of my journey.
Unexpected
Sometimes doing unexpected and uncommon things makes life interesting!
An Autograph book
An Autograph BookOne fine day, one of my classmates gave a notebook to me where several questions were written and I had to write answers to those. Afterwards I came to know that it was called an autographbook. This was the first time I was introduced to such a notion. I wonder, whenever anybody takes autograph of a person, how many days that person preserve all that nonsense stuff. I am quite sure , my that classmate might have forgotten regarding the book and me. After that, every year of my study I wrote autographs for different people.
One thing I found interesting about it. Though it is forgotten by the autograph takers, it was a good exercise for me to write and really think about myself.....my hobbies.....my views. It was quite facinating. Before that I never thought pointwise about many questions. People do write about themselves but if it is just for the sake of writting they tend to forget. My case was a bit different, so though my autograph takers might have forgotten what I have written or who I am, I am remembering most of the answers.
While writting that first autograph, I answered many obvious questions in a very different way and I realised a creative way of thinking in me. That first autograph made me think seriously about me and my life............thanks to my that unknown friend who made me to write it and think!!
Circular

Whole world is moving in circles.........you might say in concentric.........but it is circular. We can find this in most of the events, fashons, lifestyles, e-mail forwards. There is a proverb....History repeats..........Without our knowledge.
